Effective date: April 19, 2025 Last updated: April 19, 2025
This policy explains what data Reconnect Us collects, how it is used, and which third-party services process it on our behalf. We keep this short on purpose — if you have questions, use the in-app support link.
1. What We Collect
- Account information — name and email address, collected when you sign up.
- Audio recordings — audio files you record in the app or upload manually.
- Transcripts — text generated from your audio by AssemblyAI, including speaker labels.
- Coaching reports — analysis and guidance generated from your transcript by Anthropic Claude.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and error logs, used to improve the Service.
2. Your Partner’s Data
When you record or upload a conversation, your partner’s voice and words are included. They are a data subject even if they do not have a Reconnect Us account. You are responsible for obtaining their consent before recording (see our Terms of Service). Your partner has the same deletion rights as you — they may contact us via the in-app support link to request removal of their data.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Reconnect Us. Each receives only the data necessary for its purpose:

Audio note: your browser streams audio directly to AssemblyAI — audio bytes do not pass through our own servers.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the Service.
- To generate transcripts and coaching reports.
- To send you account-related emails (receipts, security alerts).
- If you opt in: to send product updates and tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models.
5. Data Retention
- Free accounts: audio is automatically deleted after 30 days. Transcripts and reports are kept while your account is active.
- Paid accounts: audio, transcripts, and reports are kept indefinitely until you delete them or close your account.
You can delete any recording — and all associated data — from the Settings page at any time. Deleting your account removes all data within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time request to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your data (“right to erasure”);
- export your data in a portable format;
- restrict or object to processing.
Submit requests via the in-app support link. We respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Audio files are encrypted at rest (Cloudflare R2 server-side encryption). All data in transit is protected by TLS. We follow industry-standard practices for access control and incident response.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Transfers
Our primary service providers are based in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area, your data is transferred to the US under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent). Contact us for details.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you by email or in-app notice before making material changes. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
11. Contact
Privacy questions or data requests can be submitted via the in-app support link.
